Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making NestKeepr accessible to everyone
Last Updated: January 1, 2026
NestKeepr is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards to make our platform usable by all.
Conformance Status
WCAG 2.1 Level AA
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
Accessibility Features
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. Use Tab to navigate, Enter or Space to activate buttons, and Escape to close dialogs.
Screen Reader Support
Our site is compatible with popular screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver. We use semantic HTML and ARIA attributes to provide context.
Text Alternatives
Images include descriptive alt text. Icons used for decoration are hidden from assistive technologies to reduce noise.
Color Contrast
Text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast requirements (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
Reduced Motion
Animations are reduced or disabled for users who prefer reduced motion, respecting the prefers-reduced-motion media query.
Focus Indicators
All focusable elements have visible focus indicators to help keyboard users track their position on the page.
Compatibility
NestKeepr is designed to be compatible with:
- Recent versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
- Screen readers including NVDA (Windows), JAWS (Windows), and VoiceOver (macOS/iOS)
- Browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Text-only browsers and RSS readers for text content
For the best experience, we recommend using the latest version of your preferred browser and keeping your assistive technology up to date.
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some areas may have limitations. We are actively working to address:
- Third-party content: Some embedded content from third parties (maps, payment forms) may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control.
- PDF documents: Some uploaded user documents may not be fully accessible. We are exploring options for accessible document viewing.
- Complex data visualizations: Some charts and graphs may require alternative text descriptions that we are actively improving.
We continuously audit and improve our accessibility. New features are tested for accessibility before release.
Technical Specifications
Accessibility of NestKeepr relies on the following technologies:
- HTML5 semantic elements
- WAI-ARIA (Web Accessibility Initiative - Accessible Rich Internet Applications)
- CSS for visual presentation
- JavaScript for interactive functionality
These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.
Assessment Methods
NestKeepr assesses accessibility through:
- Automated testing: We use axe-core and Lighthouse to identify accessibility issues during development
- Manual testing: Keyboard navigation and screen reader testing with NVDA and VoiceOver
